We are so excited to host Writing Workshops with Bob Goff at The Oaks!

WHERE WILL THE EVENT TAKE PLACE?

The Oaks is a beautiful retreat center nestled on 240 acres, located an hour from San Diego and two hours from Los Angeles. Bob Goff, and his best friend, Miles Adcox purchased the retreat center in 2019 and it’s become one of Bob’s favorite places to create, write, and dream!

WHAT IF I HAVEN’T STARTED OR HAVE FINISHED MY MANUSCRIPT?

Whether you’re looking to finally corral that stubborn idea and write the book that just won’t let you go, or you’re finished with your manuscript and thinking about query letters, agents, publishers, and royalties, this retreat is for you. You'll work closely with Bob and the other attendees to help you take the next step, wherever you are. The workshop is designed for all kinds of individuals at any stage of the writing process.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

-Experience helpful content, hands-on experiences, and practical tools/ tips wherever you are in the writing process from three time best selling author, Bob Goff.

-Get individualized attention with limited seating available with ample time to ask questions about your work.

-Learn tip and tricks from a community of writers on the same journey.

-Have uninterrupted time work on your next book.

-Enjoy stunning views, hiking trails, a cozy cafe with a fireplace, and tons of nooks and crannies to write; the perfect backdrop for getting those creative juices flowing.

-Help get unstuck from creative blocks.

-Leave a few steps further than when you came!

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

Pricing includes use of our 240 acre property, two nights of lodging in our newly renovated rooms, four guided programming sessions with Bob, two optional morning meditation sessions, plenty of free time to explore and write, five meals and some really fun surprises!

We do not offer discounts or scholarships at this time.

The price does not include travel to or from The Oaks. We recommend renting a car. Plan on spending about $80 each way with Uber.

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Please plan to arrive between 3-4pm on day one of retreat. Our first welcome activity will start at 5:30pm and you won’t want to miss it.

WHAT MEALS ARE PROVIDED?

Our culinary team has designed a finely curated menu made fresh from our kitchen and can accommodate most dietary restrictions. Five meals are included beginning day one with dinner and ending day three with breakfast, and plenty of drinks and snacks in between! Please indicate on your registration form any dietary restrictions.

WHAT IS THE DEMOGRAPHIC OF THE ATTENDEES?

There is a wide range in the demographics of the attendees! We have people signed up from all around the country - ranging in age and occupation. Our goal is to create a diverse community where you can all work together and encourage one another!

DO YOU PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS?

No, not at this time. However, if you are needing to pay in two separate payments prior to registering, please email info@oakscenter.com to register a different way.

DO YOU PROVIDE DISCOUNTS?

Yes! If you previously purchased the $99 writer’s Facebook Writing course , please contact us for a discount code to apply the writing course to your workshop.

CAN I COME WITH SOMEONE ELSE?

Of course! Bring all your writer friends or your partner!

HOW WILL WE BE GATHERING SAFELY?

We have intentionally limited attendance to keep the group small. In addition to following CDC guidelines, all group gatherings will be outside or limited in size to ensure social distancing protocols.

All meals will be individually boxed when necessary and outdoor seating encouraged. Guests are not allowed into other guest’s rooms and single occupancy rooms are available. Please review our guidelines on our website for further information or contact us with any questions.

If we have to cancel the event, your complete registration fee can be transferred to another retreat in 2022.

CAN I USE A FLAGSHIP RETREAT VOUCHER?

WILL THERE BE HORSEBACK RIDING?

We can’t wait to introduce you to our horses at Oaks Equestrian! You will have opportunities to pet, feed and ride. You will receive an email 7 days prior to your retreat to sign up for all of the enhanced experiences offered on your retreat.
